TWILIGHT
If you read my blog you know I work a lot. My work has overtaken my "fun" time. Tonight I was lucky tonight to be able to attend a friends birthday party. She is obsessed with "twilight" the party was themed. Although I've read the books, don't know the trivia. We played a board game that was "twilight trivia" and although I didn't fail I did ok. I had a blast, and it was great to hang with some girls! See below for some EYE candy!

Love the cake "d" made for Amy. I can't wait for her to make 1 for me!
I'm so lucky to have met such amazing people! Although every girl there tonight is leaving in April i'm so lucky to have met them and at least have a few months of fun!

Something For David
As we all know, I have a pretty amazing husband that pretty much does not ever ask for a thing or complain about anything. So you can imagine when he asked me if I would go to the USA vs Honduras soccer game with him I didn't hestiate to say okay right away. Although I had many other ideas for the weekend I had off I knew that this would be an experience for the both of us. David loves soccer and has been wanting to go to a professional soccer game for 10 years. So last Saturday (yes I am behind on blogging) we headed up to LA to see the game. We stayed at the LA Westin (in the car we figured out we have stayed at the Westin Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Antonio, Maui in just the last year and a half!!). Thanks to my friend Beverly at the Sheraton we got a room discount, so thank you BV! The best part about the room was that we could see the Hollywood sign from our window. See picture below.
In the opening ceremony the players walked out holding little kids hands. It was so cute!
The USA lost 3-1 which was very sad, but all in all it was a good experience.
After the game I was freezing so we went back to the Westin and had some drinks and hung out in the bar. I got 50% off food and beverage so we ordered whatever we wanted. It was great!
Only picture I have to show the fountains in the hotel, nothing like Vegas but fun nonetheless.
I also got word that work is sending me to Vegas for a Catering Convention. I'm so excited! I'm going March 6-10th so if anyone wants to join me on Friday and Saturday I'm staying at the Paris comped per work! I cannot get over how many Vegas trips I've had this year.
I also got a droid which is by far the COOLEST phone I have ever seen in my life. I can do everything on it! Right now I'm keeping track of what I eat so I can keep my calorie intake below a certain number. It even has a bar scanner so I can see the amount of calories I can eat in 1 serving size. Not to mention the phone does everything else under the sun. Good thing I have my brother in law in case I have any questions....its kinda hard to work! Until the next adventure......

Holiday Party
Better late than never! Last night we threw our staff a holiday party for working so hard during the ball and holiday season. My boss and I found the most fun Mexican restaurant with a huge dance floor. The staff didn't stop dancing all night and it truly was a blast! Even David got on the dance floor with me. Here are a few pictures of our fun and festive night!

On the Clock
I know it seems like all we do is go to Vegas and go to the wineries, but I swear we do other things! However, this post will be about the wineries! This upcoming Friday Wilson Creek winery is hosting a wine tasting at our Pub on base. They invited us to come up for a special wine tasting at their winery. I'm sure no one will be surprised that we got the special treatment. Best part was that we didn't have to pay for a thing! After we visited Wilson Creek we went to Ponte winery and South Coast Winery. Since I have done so many winery posts since we have moved here, I'll just post the pictures. Chef Mindy, Pamtini, Gwen and myself all went to go "research" the wineries. It was great being "on the clock" to do research. I had a pretty good week. Whale watching and wine tasting....my life DOESN'T suck.
I love this picture of Pamtini and myself

Whale Watching
As a thank you to me and the rest of the managers that work at the club, my big bosses Dan and Rick took us Whale Watching and to a really nice lunch in the gas lamp district yesterday. It was so much fun to be off work, and get paid! Although I have been whale watching before while David and I were in Hawaii, I was all about going on mexican waters to find some whales! We ended up seeing about 15 but none of them really breached or came out of the water. We did see a lot of flukes though, along with a few baby humpback whale
s. The boat was both indoor and outdoor and although it was a little chilly it warmed up toward the mid morning. I kept thinking about how in St. Louis our manager outings were to go bowling. To think my manager outings in California are to go whale watching was just a little too good to be true. Our boat wasn't too crowded but the tourists were in full effect. Taking a billion pictures of the water. I can remember my first vacation to San Diego. I did the same thing, and I can also remember thinking "it would be great to live here". Although I wasn't thankful the marines sent us to live in 29 Palms, I can thank them for sending us to Camp Pendleton. It is truly magical here! I took a few pictures of our trip!

Mo-town Dre as I like to call him
Once again I have been very busy with events this week. I haven't' even seen David because he has been working so late. Today I had a client call me to ask if they could bring an elephant to have at their party since the theme is circus. These clients are impossible to predict. I'll let you know if I can work it out. Supposedly the truck the elephant would come in on is really big so we would have to shut part of the gate to base off. I haven't heard back word from the Base CO yet, I told his officer to tell him I was being serious. I can't wait to hear his response.

I seriously sat and looked at the sky....I HEART San Diego! Although I'm exhausted by those phone calls at least I have this to keep me motivated!
